CDL Training Done Right in Tennessee.

Tennessee CDL training programs need more than a lesson plan. They need a way to keep ELDT training, documentation, and program operations aligned with both federal requirements and Tennessee-specific oversight where it applies. Tennessee says new CDL applicants must complete ELDT through a registered training provider, and Tennessee’s postsecondary authorization rules can also apply to non-exempt private vocational schools.

Program Efficiency

Designed for all roles, so your program runs faster.

Most CDL programs fail on documentation, not training.

  • Records are scattered
  • ELDT/BTW tracking is manual
  • Evaluations aren’t consistent
  • Proof takes too long to produce

Tennessee CDL Training: What it takes to stay compliant.

If you operate a CDL training program in Tennessee—whether you’re a CDL school, a college, a government agency, or a private carrier training your own drivers—compliance isn’t just about training well. It’s about being able to prove you trained correctly, used the right standards, and can produce the right records quickly when needed.

In Tennessee, that usually means understanding two layers of rules:

  • FMCSA ELDT + Training Provider Registry (TPR) (the federal baseline for entry-level drivers), and
  • Tennessee program-level requirements: Tennessee can add state oversight for non-exempt postsecondary schools and public school bus programs. ELDT remains the federal baseline, while Tennessee separately regulates certain vocational and credentialed schools.
